The opposition camp of the Hong Kong Legislative Council (LegCo) held a “primary election” on 11 and 12 July 2020 to identify candidates who could win most votes to represent the opposition camp in the 2020 LegCo General Election. Losers would have to step down and declare not running in the Election. Now that the General Election has been postponed for at least one year and some candidates declared disqualified, a lot of issues generated from the “primary election” and its outcome need to be examined and reflected upon.
