From Zhouqu Mudslide to the World’s Second Largest Economy

While we overtook UK, Germany and Japan as the world’s second largest economy, our Zhouqu compatriots, however, failed to escape the oldest kind of calamity – mudslide. Although we are encouraged at the news of sound GDP development, the fact that China is a country severely hit by natural disasters leave us in grief. If we stick to the current pattern of economic development without any change, are we going to pay for the price we could barely afford in the end?
