As China is rising up as a great power, stories and anecdotes about Chinese leaders are gaining more and more overseas attention. Certain political forces and interest groups consider it as a chance to manipulate general public perception in view of PRC government’s unsupportive stance towards the publication of party leaders’ autobiography as well as its strict restriction on domestic publishing and media industry over the category. These falsified copies have severely distorted the image of our party and state leaders and left destructive effect to PRC government. If publication ban over government leaders’ biography could be lifted in response to the market demand, the charisma of our party and state leaders could be well presented to the mass media while readers and think tanks from both home and abroad could also gain a better understanding of policies and decisions made by PRC party, government and military force.
