A fundamental solution to break down the antagonism among citizens and street vendors against urban management officers is to clearly identify street vendors’ essential right to work and live. As for stallholders, their basic human rights to survive is far more important than public interests and individual rights such as maintaining a cleaner city and smooth traffic, complying with government tax regulations and pursuing fair competition.
