Beijing could leverage on James Soong’s political influence to restrain Ma Ying-jeou. If Soong is willing to cooperate with Mainland authority, he will spare no effort in winning the legislative election to gather more anti-Taiwan independence voices in the parliament, however should stop running for presidential election to avoid vote dilution within the blue camp.
