Social Origins of College Imposters Phenomenon

A series of university imposter incidents were uncovered since Ministry of Education issued an investigation order in June 2009 when Luo Caixia Incident came to the light. It’s a great shock to find out that at a college with over 30,000 full-time students, over 300 were found to be committing fraud and expelled in June. Colleges are inclined to enrolling university imposters as long as a large number of employers only care about graduation diplomas without any examination on the employees’ quality and qualification. If employers appreciate the importance of school reputation, schools will exercise caution over granting graduation certification to unqualified students who otherwise will leave negative impression on the employers and corrupt the prestige of the school.
